it was tangible, the pain.

At the end of last week we took a trip to Elmina to tour the old slave castle.  It was hard to hear about all the "white man" did in that place and not feel at least a little hate for my own skin.  Some of the more conservative estimates say three million Africans were taken through Elmina Castle, where they would wait for three months in the dark before embarking on a path they did not choose.  It's also estimated that only one third of those three million actually made it out of the castle and across the world with their lives.  It is a truth that must be told, though it's not easy to hear.
